BhuFeSto or the Bhubaneswar Festival of Storytelling is one of the world’s biggest oral
storytelling festivals that celebrates the best of oral storytellers from around the
world and folk performers from India. It is curated and organized by Bakul Foundation in
collaboration with the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).
It was organized for the first time in 2018 as part of the DOT FEST (the city festival)
organized by the BDA on the sidelines of the Men's Hockey World Cup. It was organized
for the 2nd time in January 2023 again as part of Dot Fest on the sidelines of the Men’s
Hockey World Cup again.
In both editions, it has been held at different public parks in different corners of the
city and attended by thousands of people, young and old, rich and poor. There were
special sessions for children with hearing and visual disabilities as well.
